I would like to Import a Vehicle to Canada that is over 15 years old
That’s not a question! What’s this doing in the FAQ?
I guess it’s still worth bringing up
If the vehicle you are planning on purchasing from the United States and Importing into Canada, unless it’s a bus, that is 15 years old or older, you are not required to pass the RIV program that regulates Canadian vehicle safety specifications. That’s right! No vehicle modifications, no fees. If you are planning on picking the vehicle up with a trailer, importing your 15 year old + vehicle should be basically hassle free.
If you are driving it through, you will need to get temporary state permits in order to legally drive the vehicle. Also, make sure you have the vehicle insured by phoning in the vehicles VIN number to your insurance agent before you go pick it up.
You will have to produce a bill of sale, the vehicle’s title and pay your provincial taxes when you go to register it in your province.
